Rules of the Road
The rules of the road exist to ensure the safety of all; we expect participants in the Harpoon Point to Point to follow the same rules. We are sharing the roads of Vermont with cars, pedestrians and your fellow cyclists. You are riding through other people’s hometowns and neighborhoods, please be respectful. We will not tolerate scofflaws as it challenges the future of the Harpoon Point to Point and compromises your safety and the safety of others.
Some particularly important guidelines:
- Single file riding is the standard. Only ride two abreast when conditions allow.
- Never ride more than two abreast.
- Obey all traffic signs.
- Do not litter.
- Do not urinate in public. We have port-o-johns at all the rest stops.
