Thank you for another successful Harpoon Point to Point this year! 680 riders came out and raised $270,122 for the Vermont Foodbank!
As we plan for 2018, we are excited to announce some big changes for the future of the event. Sixteen years ago, the Harpoon Brewery, the Vermont Foodbank, and The Point Radio Network founded the Harpoon Point to Point, with a goal of creating a statewide event raising awareness and funds for the Vermont Foodbank. Since then, with your help, we have built a wonderful community event, where over 6,300 riders have raised $1.5 million for Vermonters in need. With the help of great partners over the years, such as National Life Group and VSECU, and many many others, this event has grown into the largest fundraiser for the Vermont Foodbank!
A lot has changed in 16 years, as the event has evolved and grown. Change has been good for the event—it has helped us improve the ride, year after year, and has enabled us to provide the best experience possible for you, our riders, our volunteers, and the community at large. We are proud of how far the ride has come over the years, and we’re very excited about what’s next for the Point to Point.
With that, we are extremely excited to announce that VSECU has accepted the leadership role from Harpoon, and will be taking over ownership and operations of what is now, The Point to Point, powered by VSECU!
The event will be moving to Ascutney Trails at the base of Mt. Ascutney, where riders will still have the chance to tackle the same beautiful 100-, 50-, or 25-mile road rides, or the 20-mile mountain bike ride that you’ve come to love. We are so fortunate to find a community partner like VSECU to step up and carry the Point to Point forward. The transition will allow the event to grow further, reaching more people and continuing to raise funds for this urgent need.
Save the date! The Point to Point, powered by VSECU, will be on August 11, 2018.
Most of our partners will be joining us in this transition, and you can expect the same high-quality experience from start to finish. Harpoon looks forward to continuing on as a partner in the event and ensuring that you all have the same great beer you know and love at the finish line!
VSECU, member-owned cooperative and not for profit credit union, has been a major partner in the Point to Point since 2010, and on top of being a sponsor each year they send staff and volunteers for the Brownsville water station, support a team of riders, and give lots of support in promotion and outreach.
We hope you’ll come with us as we transition to this new location! If you find that you no longer wish to receive email notifications about the Point to Point, powered by VSECU, please click here.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to Vermonters in need.
